Fueled by a dedication to minimizing diabetes-related amputations, Dr. Releford established the Diabetic Foot Institute. The success observed at the Daniel Freeman Wound Care Center highlighted a collaborative team specializing in limb preservation.
As Founder and CEO of The Releford Institute in Los Angeles, Dr. Releford guides a committed team, delivering tailored care to reduce diabetes-related amputation rates.
Beyond the clinical setting, Dr. Releford's dedication to community health is evident through the Diabetic Amputation Prevention Foundation (DAP), which was formed in 2001. DAP focuses on raising diabetes awareness through inventive programs, including the Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program.
On the global stage, DAP addresses healthcare disparities. As an assistant professor at Charles R. Drew University, Dr. Releford shares expertise through lectures on limb salvage and community-based outreach.
